Aquarius: NBC to Release Entire Series Early

NBC is taking a “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” approach with its new drama Aquarius.

In an unprecedented move for a broadcaster, the Peacock network has announced that it will Netflix release all 13 episodes of David Duchovny’s Charles Manson-themed thriller on and other on-demand platforms immediately after the show’s two-hour NBC premiere on Thursday, May 28.

“With Aquarius we have the opportunity to push some new boundaries to give our audience something no broadcast network has done before,” said NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt in a statement. “We are fully aware how audiences want to consume multiple episodes of new television series faster and at their own discretion, and we’re excited to offer our viewers this same experience since all 13 episodes of this unique show have been produced and are ready to be seen.”

In the 1960s-set series, Duchovny plays a Los Angeles police sergeant with a complicated home life who takes note of small-time criminal Manson when he begins recruiting needy women to what becomes his cult. As history records, these members of Manson’s “family” eventually commit various ghastly crimes, including the murders of actress Sharon Tate and supermarket owner Leno LaBianca.

Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt) has returned in “The Originals” Season 2 to reunite with her siblings while dealing with the Mikaelson family issues involving Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) daughter, Hope. The fans who are wondering if the blonde Original vampire will also reunite with her former flame Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), Aussie actress Claire Holt has the answer.

“I will say that I definitely shot a scene with him but I can’t say whether it’s romantic or positive or whatever,” Holt revealed to TVLine regarding her on-screen time with co-star Charles Michael Davis. In “The Originals” Season 1, Rebekah left New Orleans behind as well as the people she cares about in order to life the life that she wanted.

The 26-year-old Aussie actress revealed in the interview that it was a crazy time for her character, Rebekah, when she left in “The Originals” Season 1, episode 16 titled “Farewell to Storyville.” According to Claire Holt, Rebekah left with a lot of tension and friction with Klaus after the Original hybrid found out that his sister betrayed him when she summoned their “destroyer” father, Mikael (Sebastian Roché).

The actress shared that Rebekah’s return in “The Originals” Season 2 is one of the rare times that the Mikaelson family members come back together on the same side or team. However, Claire Holt admitted that the difficult part in Rebekah’s return is to give baby Hope back to her parents, Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), and she will struggle with it big time.

Claire Holt explained that raising baby Hope has made Rebekah want to have a child of her own. “She knows Hayley is Hope’s mother, and she has to return her, but she’s fiercely protective and loves that child. It’s going to be difficult for her,” Holt further added.

Fans of “The Originals” have been awaiting news of the return of Rebekah, portrayed by Claire Holt, and now that The CW has released episode synopses for the week of November 24th, we know exactly when that’s going to occur. Read on for the details!

“The Originals” Ep. 2.08 – “The Brothers That Care Forgot” (airs 11/24/14): Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt), who has spent months away living a normal life with baby Hope, finds herself on the run when she realizes Esther (guest star Sonja Sohn) has uncovered her whereabouts.

Convinced that Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood) and Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharman) would be powerful allies in his fight to take down Esther, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) sets a plan in motion to turn his brothers against their mother. Meanwhile, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is conflicted when she and Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) stumble upon an ancient ritual that would get their werewolf packs out from under Esther’s control but would require her to make a tremendous sacrifice.

Elsewhere, Rebekah is concerned when she notices something is off with Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Finally, Davina (Danielle Campbell) takes matters into her own hands by turning to dark magic, and Cami (Leah Pipes) finds herself at the center of Esther’s dangerous plan. Charles Michael Davis also stars. Michael Allowitz directed the episode written by Charlie Charbonneau and Michelle Paradise.

Claire Holt is about to find herself on the hunt for a killer.

The actress, who famously pulled out of her series regular gig on The Originals during its first season, has snagged a series regular role on NBC’s upcoming Charles Manson-themed event series Aquarius. Holt will play tough-skinned police officer Charmain Tully.

Of course, this doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Holt’s Originals character Rebekah Mikaelson. Not only does she appear in the trailer for the CW drama’s upcoming second season, but executive producer Julie Plec has repeatedly stated that Holt is always welcome to visit “New Orleans.”
